History

Branch & Associates, Inc. was founded in 1963 by Bill Branch. Headquartered in Roanoke, Virginia, Branch & Associates has grown from a modest company performing local grading and construction services to a regional building construction firm. Branch provides general contracting, construction management and design-build services to a multi-state region from our office in Roanoke, Virginia. Branch & Associates, Inc. provides construction services for public and private building owners.

In 1985, the Branch organization was reorganized into The Branch Group, Inc. with Branch & Associates operating as a wholly-owned subsidiary. Today The Branch Group provides corporate services to five wholly-owned subsidiaries operating companies providing construction services.

• Branch & Associates, Inc., based in Roanoke, Virginia, performs work as a General Contractor, Construction Manager, and Design-Builder.

• Branch Highways, Inc. based in Roanoke, Virginia, performs heavy/highway/infrastructure construction.

• G.J. Hopkins, Inc., based in Roanoke, Virginia, provides mechanical and electrical contracting, along with its specialized service and IT divisions.

• E.V. Williams, Inc., based in Virginia Beach, Virginia, performs heavy/highway/infrastructure construction and concrete paving.

• R. E. Daffan, based in Manassas, Virginia, serves as a General Contractor.

Branch & Associates, Inc. has operated under an Employee Stock Ownership Plan since 1982, and is a 100% employee-owned company. The resulting ownership culture where each employee has a vested interest in the successful completion of every project has been a major contributor to our steady growth and progress.

Branch & Associates, Inc. celebrated our 47th anniversary in 2010, a tribute to our dedicated personnel, and the partnerships we have enjoyed with our clients, subcontractors, and design professionals. We are currently engaged in fulfilling our Vision 2020 together with the other Branch Group companies. This vision for the future will enable us to continue to grow our company and deliver the highest quality services to our clients.
